People come, people go

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Yes, that’s life. As we bade goodbye to Stefany “Tepo” “Tea & Poo” “Thai Pao”, we welcome new people to the office.

Tepo is leaving us to establish her own business in event organizing and clothing retail (she designs her own fashion items) and as sad as we are to let her go after almost a year working with us, we are proud to say that she is leaving to be an entrepreneuse herself and we wish her all the best for her future company (note to Tepo: now, as your own boss and the owner of your company with your own employees too, you will understand why every now and then we have this urge to scream and shout whenever things are not done correctly, HA! :D ).

Just as Tepo says goodbye, there are new people joining our forces:

- Jeff: our intern from the Netherlands, arrived last week on the 13th of February freshly from the Land of the Tulips. Jeff is a front-end developer, very passionate about web development.

- Johan: fresh-graduate, good in PHP and is willing to learn and grow with us. Arrived as Web Developer at the end of February.

So yes, people come, people go…and Idebaik is still looking for more talented, creative and motivated people to join forces with us!

Idebaik Monthly Breakfast

Friday, February 25th, 2011

We like delicious breakfasts. We like it sweet and salty, with a strong cup of coffee or camomile tea, and twice this month, we had the special breakfasts from Le Meridien Hotel Jakarta.

One of our future clients, Le Meridien specializes in French and international cuisine, and their patisserie, the Boutique, is a real French one – everything in there is freshly baked, made and created by a French chef. Delicious, delicious, and sinfully delicious.

If just last week on Monday we had a batch of fresh croissants, blueberry millefeuille and danish, today morning, we had peach and strawberry danish, cheese and chicken pies, cinnamon rolls, Chocolate Devil, Chocolate Truffle, peach pistachio Philadelphia, strawberry pie and crunchy chocolate Opera.

It was a very nice morning spent chatting and talking, brainstorming about projects, ongoing, upcoming and in-house ones. Check out the photos…

Hacienda Night Out

Friday, February 25th, 2011

One of our clients, Hacienda, celebrated their second anniversary last Wednesday. At the occasion of Stefany / Tepo’s farewell (she’s leaving us to establish her own business, but this will be a subject to another post), we were invited by Hacienda to come to the anniversary party. So on Wednesday night, all jobs done for the day, we headed to Senayan Arcadia.

Hacienda is Jakarta’s best original Mexican cuisine – the chef, Gerardo Milan, is a real Mexican chef inheriting the traditional recipes from his mother. Everything is very Mexican and deliciously fine in Hacienda.

The night was a great one! We ate a lot of food, drank a lot of margaritas (Hacienda serves the BEST margaritas in town, original, frozen, strawberry, peach, name it) and had a lot of laugh.

indonesiaclubbing enters the Final of SWA Digitalpreneur & Startup 2011 Competition

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

We are just too happy and would like to inform you that our company, idebaik.com’s startup website:

INDONESIACLUBBING.COM

Has been selected to enter the prestigious SWA Magazine’s 2011 Startup & Digitalpreneur 10 Finalists in the Business Category!

We would never have reached this important milestone without the tremendously huge amount of support, friendship and kindness our club partners, EO friends, our members and all of you that we cannot mention one by one, have shown us in the last 4 years!

We are now 15,000 members and counting more, fast, everyday!

Entering this competition means that we will be open for investments – in order to be able to provide better services for everyone in the clubbing industry in the future.

There are several things that we want to improve, many great things we want to implement, kick-ass future plans that we want to execute, and the opportunity to participate in this competition will hopefully make everything possible – for INDONESIACLUBBING.COM to grow.

Thank you all, and please keep supporting us in the judgment phase – the only clubbing & nightlife startup website in the SWA competition!

Love from

Idebaik + Google

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

These last weeks, we have noticed that the number of calls and emails we have been receiving at the office has increased – new clients get in touch everyday! If the fact that we recently won two big pitchings (Sunsilk and PALYJA among them) could play a role in it, we finally realized that this is partly due to a better positioning of our address on Google.

A really good surprise, not one due to coincidence, though. We actually did something about two months ago – we tried out some new tools to maximize our presence on Search Engines – for our own company website but also for our clients.

So then, for searches using keywords “web design”, “web design jakarta”, “website jakarta” – keywords commonly used by potential clients to look for a web agency – we’re always on the first page!

Night Out in the Middle of the Week

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Without being hardcore clubbers, IdeBaik people love to go out checking nightscene once in awhile.

And since yesterday, Thursday 3 Feb 2011, was a Chinese New Year Holiday, everyone decided it was a good time to go out on Wednesday night.

So off they went to X2 Club to see DBN DJ Set.

Here’s a nice group photo:

So tonight it’s going to be another night out since it’s Friday!

Launching: PALYJA and Farah Quinn

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

We never stop!

After an extremely hectic, exhausting but fulfilling month of January, here we are, on the 1st of February and we’ve launched two sites today!

PALYJA

PALYJA – the affiliation of French and Indonesia, PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (a combination of PAM – Perusahaan Air Minum and Lyonnaise des Eaux France, with the word Jaya which means glory in Indonesia) had an old website made with an Open-Source tool. Not satisfied with the old site, by the end of 2010 they were seeking a new partner to revamp their website.

They were on the verge of signing with another company when we came in contact with one of their French staff, and after what seemed like a flash meeting, we won the pitching.

Long story short, we signed with them and started the website…on the 14th of January.  The site was to be delivered within a very short time and with a lot of pages, a very complex structure and additional tools.

We sacrificed our weekends while juggling with no less than 6 different projects at the same time and fortunately, PALYJA people have been very helpful with the contents and editorial as well as being very proactive with the website progress, and today, we proudly say that PALYJA.co.id has been launched!

FARAH QUINN OFFICIAL

Now everyone in Indonesia must be already very familiar with this beautiful lady. A very famous Celebrity Chef, TV Persona, Brand Ambassador of various big products, wife of Carson Quinn and mother to the cute little Armand – Farah Quinn has it all. She leads the dream life most people can only dream of – doing what she loves and getting loved by people just by being herself.

Now, we would like to compliment Farah’s humbleness and down-to-earth attitude. She is not only beautiful outside but inside, and Farah as well as her team has been very helpful throughout the process of the website development.  She still manages to give us a little of her time and checks out the progress between her busy schedule.

With almost 700,000 fans on her Facebook Fanpage, thousands of comments and likes each time she posts something, we believe that this website has a huge potential.  For months, Farah’s fans have been asking her where to get her recipes – well, now there is a place to browse them, and this place will also give all her fans a sneak peek into her fabulous life!

It is not easy staying simple but Farah has proven it all to us.  So it’s indeed with a big pleasure that we announce that as per today, the 1st of February 2011, farahquinn.com is online!

Aborted Projects Pt. 1 – Embassy Playground 2010

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

In the ruthless business world, being talented is something, but staying humble is something else. Well, it so happens that sometimes, for one or more reasons, a project doesn’t get up into the final stage and therefore prematurely aborted.  But, instead of cursing and hating and considering it a failure, we prefer to see the brighter side.  Embassy Playground 2010 is one of the best examples.

The purpose of this website was simple: promote the annual festival of Embassy Playground in Jakarta through a clear, nice-looking website, a practical and promotional eye-candy.

With an ultra-tight deadline, we still thought that we could finish the website on time, gracefully. We worked very seriously through brainstormings and sleepless nights – and remember, we’re the production house that created indonesiaclubbing.com and creating a website connected into the clubbing world could’ve been fun!

After a few days of hard coding and creative designing, we had advanced quite far in the development of the website before the project finally got canceled.

The site – incomplete – remains available on our test server: http://mbcp.idbk.info
PS: The site is hosted on our test server located in Jakarta, Indonesia, and can perhaps be slow when accessed from certain parts of the world.

Background animation, intelligent navigation, the website uses jQuery and with the aftermath, it had allowed us to learn more about this kind of library that we use afterward in all types of web projects for our clients, and not only to create a “website that moves without flash”.

The fact that we move on – always – after old projects have been done, aborted or not, also allows us to see the evolution of our company, our ways of thinking and working. And if only six months have passed after the abortion of Embassy Playground project, we can only say that we didn’t regret this project and we’ve continued to do great projects afterward!
